Building a shed isn't as involved as building a house or even a garage, but it still needs a roof, siding and floor. plywood is necessary for the roof and floor, but not always for the siding. Use pressure treated 3/4 inch construction grade exterior plywood for the floor. it’s solid, won’t sag, and protects the substructure and is easy to sweep. on the shed walls use exterior rated 1/2 inch plywood for a waterproof finished look, and 3/4 inch cdx plywood on the roof for strength.. Best answer: i would use exterior grade plywood. overtime paint won't keep moisture from getting to the adhesive in the plys. i would also consider putting a pressured treated "mud" board ( 8 inches wide or better) at the bottom because that is the area that stays the wettest when it rains. the floor should.
Shed floor and plywood thickness? i know 3/4 inch treated plywood is the norm for the floor of a shed. if i have access to 1/2 inch treated plywood, what are the pros and cons of doubling up on the 1/2 inch plywood to go for a thickness of 1 inch?. I have to build a shed. rather than pour a slab , i am going to set it on concrete blocks. the shed will be 10'x10'. i am not sure what to use for the floor. would exterior grade plywood t&g be sufficient or would i be better off with pressure treated plywood. i would like to use exterior grade assuming i can get t&g. the floor will be framed. Shed plywood floor: treated? i am building a backyard shed, 8x12. i realized i purchased 3/4" non-treated plywood for the floor... should i get treated instead? the shed will be on 4x4 treated skids on concrete blocks, with 2x6 joists. so the plywood will be 9+ inches off the ground in all areas..
